WHO: Flu Patients in Asia Near Normal Levels

The World Health Organization says the number of patients reporting flu-like symptoms in East Asia has fallen to the level of ordinary years.

The agency says in a weekly report on the H1N1 influenza that the flu pandemic continues in East Asia but its overall activity has diminished.

The report says the number of patients with flu-like illnesses in Korea and Japan has neared the seasonal level of normal years.

Based on official estimates, 15-thousand-200 people have died from the H1N1 flu since April last year.
