The U.S. is withholding a position on Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo’s ongoing visit to North Korea.

State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said Dai’s visit is “quite fortuitous" and that when a U.S. delegation visits Beijing next week, the U.S. looks forward to getting a readout of Dai's meetings in Pyongyang.

Crowley said that after visiting Beijing, the U.S. delegation will make stops in South Korea and Japan before heading home.
