'NK May be Assisting Myanmar in Nuclear Development'

WikiLeaks has disclosed U.S. diplomatic cables that suggest North Korea has been helping Myanmar develop a nuclear program.

According to the diplomatic cable the U.S. embassy in Yangon, Myanmar, sent to Washington in August last year, an unidentified source revealed that Myanmar was building a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes with assistance from North Korea.

Another diplomatic cable in August 2004 reported that some 300 North Korean technicians were seen at the construction site for an underground military facility in Magway, some 480 kilometers northwest of the capital of Yangon.
