Time Magazine’s Top 10 World News Stories for 2010

U.S. news magazine Time announced Thursday its top ten World News Stories for this year.

The January 23rd Haiti earthquake, where 23-thousand people lost their lives, came in as the top story for the year, followed by the Wikileaks’ disclosure of secret U.S. documents, the dramatic rescue of the Chilean miners, and Pakistan’s almost unprecedented flooding that killed some two-thousand people.

North Korea’s artillery attack on Yeonpyeong Island was cited fifth, while the South Africa World Cup, Yemeni al-Qaeda operations, Europe’s austerity measures, Mexico’s drug war, and Thai red shirt protests rounded out the list.
