Report: 5 Conditions Needed for Nuke Talks' Resumption

A leading Japanese daily says South Korea, the United States and Japan have agreed to jointly request that North Korea meet five conditions for the resumption of the six-way nuclear talks.

The Asahi Shimbun said Wednesday that the five conditions include the suspension of the North’s uranium enrichment program, allowing inspection of the North's nuclear facilities by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the implementation of the September 19th, 2005 Joint Statement.

The paper said the three countries have informed China of the conditions and is seeking Russia’s support on the matter.
