China has reaffirmed that dialogue and negotiation are the only solutions that can resolve the issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a regular news briefing that South Korea’s top nuclear envoy Wi Sung-lac and his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei held talks in Beijing on Thursday, exchanging views on the state of affairs on the Korean Peninsula and the resumption of six-party nuclear talks.

The spokesman, however, did not elaborate on the results of the talks.
