Russia, China Agree on Need to Swiftly Resume Nuke Talks

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Hu Jintao have agreed on the need to swiftly resume the stalled six-way nuclear talks.

According to Russia’s Itar-Tass News Agency, the two leaders revealed their position when they issued a joint statement after holding summit talks in Moscow on Thursday.

The two leaders stressed that Pyongyang’s nuclear standoff must be resolved through diplomatic means. They also agreed that a reduction of military activities on the Korean Peninsula must come before the reopening of the nuclear negotiations.
