US: Clinton and S. Korean FM to Meet Next Week

The United States has confirmed that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will meet with South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan in Washington next Friday.

State Deputy Spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters on Friday that Clinton and Kim will discuss a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global affairs, including the next steps to take on the Korean Peninsula.

When asked if the issue of food aid to North Korea is going to come up during the meeting, Nuland said she doesn’t want to speculate on specific Korean Peninsula issues that may be addressed. However, she added that Washington and Seoul usually cover the full range of issues.
