Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik says nations worldwide should take part in forestation to overcome natural disasters and environmental crisis and to ensure forests exist for future generations.

The Prime Minister said spoke at Thursday in Seoul marking the International Year of Forests. He said that the vision of worldwide forestation cannot be achieved by the participation of just a few nations but of all nations.

Kim said South Korea should share its success in increasing forestation and collaborate with other nations to that end. The Prime Minister said that the nation plans to host the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in October and sign an agreement with the ASEAN on forest cooperation this year.
