U.S. President Barack Obama has again urged the U.S. Congress to move on ratifying trade deals with South Korea, Panama and Colombia.
He made the call during a news conference at the White House on Wednesday.
Obama said Congress can advance a set of trade agreements that would allow American businesses to sell more of their goods and services to countries in Asia and South America. He added that the agreements would support tens of thousands of American jobs while helping those adversely affected by trade.
Obama said the passage of the trade deal with South Korea is important because the South is benefitting more from the current trade relations with the U.S.
He added part of the reason he wants to pass this trade deal is because while many Korean cars can be spotted in the United States, not many American cars are seen in Korea, adding that the U.S. should rebalance that trading relationship.
