Japanese media, including Kyodo News, has reported that a former Japanese police officer in Yokohama has been arrested on charges of killing his Korean wife.

Police in the Kanagawa Prefecture have arrested and are investigating truck driver and former police officer Hideo Yamaguchi on charges of abandoning a corpse and murder.

In the police interrogation, Yamaguchi reportedly said he killed a woman of Korean nationality, identified as Cho, in an apartment in Minami ward, Yokohama, in September last year. The former police officer also reportedly said that he damaged the body and dumped it in the river.
