A Korean pop (K-Pop) singing competition will be held in Manhattan, New York later this month.

The Korean Culture Service New York announced that it will hold the K-Pop contest at an outdoor stage in Central Park on July 29th.

Contestants will have to produce videos showing them singing South Korean pop songs and then post their content on the online video sharing Web site, YouTube, for screening. The contestant will next have to send the YouTube address and an application to the Korean Culture Service New York by July 21st.

The culture agency will select eight individuals or bands to compete in the singing competition.

The winner will be flown round trip to South Korea to take part in a global K-Pop competition that opens on November 26th.
