Le Monde: S.Korea Should Resume Dialogue with NK

The French daily Le Monde says that South Korea is hesitating to revise its hard-line policy toward North Korea, despite pressure from the U.S. to resume inter-Korean dialogue.

The French newspaper said that South and North Korea confront each other across the Demilitarized Zone, preparing to respond to provocations.

It added that North Korea is seeking to negotiate its nuclear issue only with the U.S., shunning South Korea, adding the South Korean government is refusing to step back and has failed to come up with a strategy to find a breakthrough.

The Le Monde quoted an expert as saying that Seoul’s hard-line stance toward North Korea over the past three years has not born any results, and stressed that South Korea should work to resume dialogue with North Korea regarding the North's nuclear issue.
