A Korean American has become the general manager of the U.S. National Basketball Association's New Jersey Nets’ minor league operations.
According to the New York Post and other local media Wednesday, Milton Lee will oversee the operations of the Nets' D League affiliate, the Springfield Armor. He will also be charged with selecting the team's head coach and coaching staff as well as assembling the roster for the upcoming season.
Lee has previously served as the director of basketball operations and has work with the NBA in multiple capacities. Prior to working with the NBA, Lee ran his own basketball services company and worked on Wall Street. Nets general manager Billy King said that Lee is a natural fit for the position as he has a strong history with young players.
Lee is the first ethnic Korean to assume the post of general manager at a NBA team.
