'Russia's Spacecraft to Fall to Earth on Nov. 26th'

Russia’s unmanned spacecraft Phobos-Grunt, which failed to reach its intended orbit, may fall to Earth around the end of November.

The United States Strategic Command said on its Web site on Thursday that the Russian spacecraft with the serial number 37872 is likely to enter the Earth’s atmosphere November 26th.

Despite sending signals to the Phobos-Grunt to start its engine, Russia’s space agency has yet to succeed in making contact.

The spacecraft was successfully launched Wednesday from Kazakhstan with a mission to reach the Martian moon Phobos, but the craft got stuck in the Earth's orbit and lost contact with the control center.
