A six-point-four magnitude earthquake has shaken waters off eastern Indonesia, forcing residents on nearby islands to evacuate to hilly areas.

Casualties from the quake in North Maluku province have not been reported yet.

Indonesia’s Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said that the quake occurred at 11:05 a.m. on Monday at a depth of ten kilometers under the Molucca Sea and 69 kilometers from a city in the North Maluku province.

Indonesia sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” one of the world’s most active areas for earthquakes and volcanoes.
