A U.S. consumer magazine has picked Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S2 as the number one smartphone.

Consumer Reports recommended the Galaxy S2 as the best smartphone choice for customers among three major U.S. mobile carriers, including AT &T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

The magazine also recommended LG Electronics’ “Revolution” as the third best smartphone for Verizon subscribers and LG’s “Thrill 4G” phone as the third best choice for AT&T customers.

Meanwhile, Apple’s iPhone 4S was recommended as the fourth best phone for AT&T customers and fifth best for other mobile carrier subscribers.
