Jitters Linger in Financial Markets

Financial markets remain shaky amid concerns that reform efforts by Italy and Greece’s new governments will face difficulties.

At the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 61-hundredths of a percent from Friday to close at two-thousand-78-point-98 on Monday.

The S&P 500 index slid 95-hundredths of a percent while the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell eight-tenths of a percent.

In Europe, German stock prices slid one-point-18 percent while French stock prices fell one-point-two percent.

Stock prices in London also fell 47-hundredths of a percent.
