Thai PM Says Parts of Bangkok Could Remain Flooded into 2012

Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says parts of Bangkok could still be flooded next year.

Thai media on Wednesday quoted the prime minister as saying that she does not want to see the flooding continue, but western parts of the capital city will likely remain flooded through early next year.

Thailand suffered serious floods in mid-July and some parts of the nation, especially the outskirts of Bangkok, still remain inundated.

Some citizens, who are seeking to file a lawsuit against the government and authorities, are collecting evidence to prove the government’s negligence and mismanagement in the crisis.
