The LA Auto Show has opened to showcase the technological feats achieved by carmakers from around the world.

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor unveiled the 2012 model of its Azera, a sedan, at the show.

The Hyundai Azera targets the Lexus ES and the Buick LaCrosse as rivals.

Hyundai’s sister company, Kia Motors, introduced the luxury sports sedan concept car “Kia-GT,” which boasts a futuristic, stylish design.

Some 50 new cars are on display at this year’s show.

Carmakers have presented future-oriented cars that are equipped with state-of-the-art safety systems, IT and entertainment features.

The show opened on Friday and will run through November 27th.
