Iranian Foreign Minister Regretful over Storming of British Embassy in Tehran

The German Foreign Ministry says Iran has expressed regret about the storming of the British embassy in Tehran by Iranian protesters on November 29th.

The German Foreign Ministry said Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said he was deeply sorry over the attack on the British embassy in a bilateral meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle in Bonn on Sunday. The Iranian minister vowed to take all necessary measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

However, the British government argued that the storming of the embassy could happen only with the approval of the Iranian president.
