South Korea, China and Japan will boost cultural exchanges among their youths.

The three countries' culture ministers held talks for three days through Sunday in Shanghai and signed an action plan to continue substantive exchanges between Korean, Chinese and Japanese teenagers.

Other plans in the agreement include designating culture and art cities in each country and supporting cultural events and the protection of cultural assets.

The three nations will also jointly work to promote East Asian culture by holding a joint art festival in third countries.

Culture Minister Choe Kwang-shik says North Korea could also join the efforts once exchanges are expanded and progress is made in the joint protection of cultural properties.
