China is conducting the sixth sea trial of its aircraft carrier Varyag.

The Chinese daily “Global Times” reported in its online edition that the Varyag left Dalian port on Monday morning for an unidentified destination. The daily linked the carrier’s voyage to the Chinese government’s move to ban ships’ travel in the northern part of the Yellow Sea from May fifth through the 20th.

The Chinese aircraft carrier embarked on the trial a week after its return from a ten-day trial in late April.
