Police and related authorities are on alert in Palm Springs in the U.S. state of California as a number of discarded pipe bombs continue to pop up around the city.

Local media report that six crude pipe bombs have been found on Palm Springs’ streets over the past five days.

The bombs are 15-centimeter-long metal or plastic pipes stuffed with explosives.

Experts say the bombs are powerful and lethal enough to kill people and destroy structures.
