Chinese Tours to North Korea Resumed

A newspaper for ethnic Koreans living in China’s Jilin Province reports that tours to North Korea have been resumed.

The Jilin Daily said a tour route linking the Chinese province with North Korea opened in 2009 but was suspended over the past three years due for several reasons, including a rule requiring tourists to receive visas in other Chinese regions.

The tour program takes tourists from the autonomous region of ethnic Koreans in Jilin Province to Mount Baekdu. Visits to historical sites and tourist attractions in Hyesan City of North Korea’s Ryanggang Province are also on the itinerary.
