US Senate Committee to Hold Hearing on JP Morgan

The U.S. Senate’s committee on banking, housing and urban affairs will hold a hearing on the reform of Wall Street, following JP Morgan Chase’s two billion dollar trade blunder.

Committee Chairman Tim Johnson said in a news release that his committee will hold the hearing in coming weeks with key financial regulators present to check if Wall Street reforms are moving in the right direction.

Johnson said senators will receive explanations at the hearing from the Treasury Department, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The senators will also question witnesses.

The committee chairman said the hearing will also deal with the financial stability of JP Morgan Chase, measures to reform the fund market, and the economic situation in Europe.
