N. Korean Parliamentary Chief Likely to Look for Investors on Indonesia Trip

Indonesian media report that North Korean parliamentary leader Kim Yong-nam will likely try to attract investment in North Korea during a summit with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday.

The Jakarta Post said that during a recent visit to Singapore, Kim was accompanied by senior North Korean economic officials and focused on promoting economic cooperation between North Korea and the Southeast Asian city-state.

But the newspaper said the Indonesian president will likely focus on tensions that have been aggravated by North Korea's nuclear program.

The trade volume between North Korea and Indonesia stood at slightly more than 38 million dollars last year, up nearly 70 percent from 2010.
