S.Korean Student Graduates With Top Honors From Harvard

The first South Korean national to graduate as the highest ranking undergraduate at Harvard University received his diploma on May 24.

Twenty-year-old economics major Jin Kwon-yong graduated summa cum laude at Harvard with the highest ranking in his class, the second honor given to two students out of a total of one-thousand-552 graduates.

Jin gained a perfect 4.0 grade point average and completed his entire undergraduate course in three years instead of the regular four years.

Jin was also awarded the John Williams Award as the top graduate in economics as well as the Thomas Hoopes Prize, awarded to those with outstanding graduate theses.
