Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi is denying media reports about her alleged involvement in a prostitution scandal, saying she will take legal action against those spreading the rumors.

Zhang's agent said on the microblogging Web site Sina Weibo that there is no reason for her to suffer from such groundless rumors. The actress warned that she will find the people spreading lies and take legal action against media companies that failed to base their reports on facts.

Quoting anonymous sources, U.S.-based Chinese-language news Web site Boxun and other Hong Kong and Taiwan-based Chinese-language media companies reported that Zhang allegedly slept with recently ousted Chinese Communist Party heavyweight, Bo Xilai, some ten times between 2007 and 2011.

The news outlets said that facing a travel ban, the actress was allegedly under investigation by the Chinese government for being paid for her relationship with Bo.
