Tumble in US, European Stocks Easing

Jitters over the sharp tumble in U.S. and European stock markets over the weekend have now eased.

The general elections in Greece, viewed as an important turning point in the euro zone crisis, are just two weeks away and the international community is also moving quickly to draw up economic response measures.

Finance ministers of the Group of Seven nations will hold a video conference Tuesday night Korean time and the Group of 20 finance ministers will gather in Mexico June 18th, one day after the Greek elections.

In the U.S., Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will speak in Congress Wednesday and expectations are rising that he will hint at new pump-priming measures.

Wall Street considers both the will of the U.S. and China to stimulate their economies as key to stabilizing the global financial market since it appears difficult to diffuse the euro zone crisis in the short term.
