Apple has requested that a U.S. court issue an injunction to ban the sale of Samsung’s Galaxy S3 smartphones which recently hit store shelves.

Software patent-news blog Foss Patents said Wednesday that Apple asked the California Northern District Court earlier on Tuesday for permission to include the Galaxy S3 "as another product targeted by Apple's motion for a preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Nexus.”

Apple claimed that after analyzing the new Samsung smartphone, it assessed the device has potentially infringed on more than two of Apple’s patents, including data tapping.
