Search for Missing Copter Suffers under Poor Weather

Peruvian airmen and police are still searching for the helicopter that went missing three days ago in Peru with eight South Koreans on board.

The Peruvian Air Force recommenced airborne searches on the helicopter at 1 a.m. on Saturday (Korean time) for the missing aircraft and its passengers.

However, the remote Hualla Hualla region where the chopper is thought to have gone missing is covered with dense forest and sits at four-thousand meters above sea level, making search efforts difficult. Bad weather has also hampered the search.

Local police are also looking for the helicopter on foot, getting as close to three kilometers from the area the helicopter is believed to be. The snowy terrain is making it difficult to get any closer.

Temperatures in the Hualla Hualla region often reach 16 degrees below zero, proving another challenge for the searchers and the survival of the passengers.
