An Israeli research team has found a way to grow bones with stem cells extracted from fat in laboratories.

British newspaper the Telegraph reports that scientists at Bonus BioGroup, an Israeli biotechnology company, used stem cells taken from fat tissue to develop the technology.

The research team said that the development opens a path for patients to have their broken or damaged bones repaired or even replaced with entirely new ones grown outside the body from their own cells.
