Terrorist Bomb Blasts Kill 80 People in Iraq

Foreign news outlets report that a series of terrorist attacks killed 80 people and wounded 200 others in Bagdad and other major cities in Iraq on Wednesday.

The attacks are the deadliest since a terrorist bombing in Bagdad on March 20th that killed 50 people.

Local police say the first explosion jolted a village in northern Bagdad at 5 a.m. Wednesday. They say four other explosions followed that day throughout the nation, killing an additional 25 people and wounding over 70.

Iraq is suffering from deepening sectarian conflict between the Sunni and the Shia and frequent terrorist attacks since the withdrawal of U.S. forces late last year.
