The Hyundai Kia Automotive Group is likely to see annual sales in the United States top one million cars for the second consecutive year in 2012.

Hyundai Motor America estimated Tuesday that it sold more than 356-thousand cars during the first half of the year, including around 63-thousand in June alone.

Kia Motors Corporation alone sold around 50-thousand cars last month, putting the total sales during the first six months of the year at roughly 289-thousand.

The combined number of Hyundai and Kia cars sold during the first half of the year stands at around 645-thousand, or higher than some 560-thousand sold during the same period last year. Given the figure, the automotive group is expected to easily top one million in U.S. sales this year.
