More Americans Upbeat about Economy

A growing number of Americans are feeling more upbeat about the future of the U.S. economy.

A survey conducted by CNN and research specialist ORC International shows that 60 percent of Americans believe the economy will improve next year.

The figure is up 21 percentage points from a survey last December when only 39 percent of Americans felt confident about the U.S. economy.

However, 73 percent of respondents agree that the U.S. economy is still in a very bad state.

The poll was conducted from June 28th to July first with one-thousand-517 adult Americans by telephone. The survey's overall sampling error is plus or minus two-point-five percentage points.
