U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit China next week at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said top U.S. and Chinese diplomats will discuss matters of joint interest in their meeting. Hong added that Clinton will also meet with other Chinese leaders during her two-day stay in China from September fourth to the fifth.

Conflicts concerning the Diaoyu Islands, territorial disputes in the South China Sea, violence in Syria, and nuclear ambitions of Iran and North Korea will also likely be on the agenda for Yang and Clinton's meeting.
