Tokyo Court Rules in Favor of Samsung in Patent Suit

Samsung Electronics has won a patent lawsuit against Apple in Japan.

The Tokyo District Court on Friday ruled against the U.S. firm's claim that Samsung infringed on its technology to synchronize media content on smartphones and tablets with computers.

Samsung said the ruling has confirmed that its products did not violate Apple's patents. It vowed to do its best to continue to innovate the mobile industry and provide top quality products to the Japanese market.

Apple filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo court in August last year arguing that the Galaxy S, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 7, which are imported and sold by Samsung Electronics' Japanese branch, violated patent rights of the iPhone and iPad.
