Moody’s Lowers Credit Rating Outlook for EU

Moody's Investors Service has lowered its outlook for the triple “A” credit rating of the European Union from “stable” to “negative.”

Moody’s explained that the move reflects its negative outlooks for the credit ratings of the EU’s four biggest budget backers: Germany, France, Britain and the Netherlands.

The four countries account for nearly half of the EU’s budget.
