US Civilian Delegation Visits N. Korea

North Korea has recently allowed a delegation of U.S. civilians to tour its industrial facilities, universities and cooperative farms.

U.S.-based think tank Pacific Council on International Policy said its President Jerrold Green and 22 U.S. businesspeople, investors and representatives from state governments visited North Korea from August 26th through September first.

An official from the council said the delegation sought to learn more about North Korea through the visit.

The delegation toured North Korea based on an itinerary approved by North Korean authorities. During their stay, they visited Pyongyang, Wonsan, Nampo, Gaeseong, the Demilitarized Zone, Kim Il Sung University, Wonsan Agricultural College and a cooperative farm in Sariwon. They also met with Western diplomats stationed in North Korea.
