Bomb Attacks Kill 100 in Iraq Over Weekend

Around 100 are dead from a wave of terrorist attacks that swept across Iraq over the weekend.

Local medical sources say five bomb attacks, including a blast outside a restaurant in a Shia neighborhood and another at a commercial district in Bagdad, killed 32 people and wounded 102 others.

A government security official says two vehicles installed with bombs exploded at a market near an Islam Shiite mosque 320 kilometers southeast of Bagdad. A doctor working for local health authorities says 14 were killed and 60 others injured in the blast.

Near Balad in northern Bagdad, men fired at a military check point and detonated bombs targeting Iraqi soldiers. Eleven were killed and eight wounded.

Similar attacks broke out in at least eleven Iraqi cities throughout the weekend.
