China May Attempt Further Economic Stimulus

Bloomberg reports that China may announce additional economic stimulus measures before its leadership transition this fall.

Bloomberg said speculations are spreading about the Chinese government’s additional efforts to stimulate the economy, as China's industrial output grew at its lowest rate in three years.

However, Reuters reports that consumer prices gained two percent year-on-year in August in China, making it difficult for the Chinese government to take extra economic stimulus measures.

China announced a 150-billion-dollar plan last week to build social overhead capital facilities in an attempt to buoy the economy.
