Foreign Demand for US Long-term Assets Rises

More and more foreign investors are buying U.S. long-term assets.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury said that foreigners’ buying of U.S. long-term equities, notes and bonds jumped from nine-point-three billion dollars in June to 67 billion dollars in July.

Foreigners’ purchases of long-term U.S. government bonds surged from 32-point-four billion dollars in June to 50 billion dollars in July.

Market watchers say that a surging number of investors are turning to U.S. long-term assets amid the prolonged euro zone crisis.
