French Magazine's Cartoons Likely to Further Outrage Muslims

A French magazine is expected to further incense the Muslim world by carrying cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.

AFP reported that French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo printed cartoons caricaturing the Prophet Mohammed in its latest issue.

The editor of the magazine said the images would "shock those who want to be shocked," suggesting that they might be offensive to Muslims.

In relation, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault issued a statement expressing his "disapproval of all excesses." He strongly criticized the weekly and urged it to act in a responsible manner.
