Models dressed in Korea’s traditional royal attire walk down the runway to a traditional Korean tune.

Made of traditional Korean paper “hanji,” silk and ramie, the Korean garment shows off timeless and borderless beauty.

The audience let out exclamations of delight at the sight of the models and the traditional Korean culture's pursuit of the beauty of harmony.

U.S. opinion leaders attended the event, which marked the 130th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and the U.S.

Coinciding with the global explosive popularity of South Korean singer PSY’s song “Gangnam Style,” the event suggests the possibility that traditional Korean culture can appeal to foreigners.

Along with Korean pop enjoying international popularity, traditional Korean culture has become a tool that helps Korea boost its national image and brand on the international stage.
