A Japanese daily reports most of the Chinese military has assumed a combat readiness posture.

Quoting a Chinese source, the Yomiuri Shimbun said that Chinese forces were put on Level-3 combat readiness posture in five out of seven Chinese military regions. The Level-3 alert is issued when a grave emergency occurs near China.

During this time, soldiers are banned from taking vacation leave and must keep military equipment in good condition in preparation for any emergency.
