US-based Korean Civic Group Searches for Victims of Japan's Cruelties

A South Korean civic group based in New York is searching for victims of Japan’s past wrongdoings.

During a movement to promote the rights of Koreans in the United States, the civic group said it's working with the New York Holocaust Center to look for victims who will testify to Japan’s past cruelties.

The center said it's trying to locate victims who lived under Japanese colonial rule and were forced to labor or serve as sex slaves. Many were also forcibly drafted into the Japanese military.

Not only Koreans, but also Chinese or Southeast Asians and American veterans who fought in World War Two are being encouraged to come forward with their stories.
