China to Take Offensive Against Japan in UN for Territorial Row

China is hinting that it will take the offensive against Japan at the UN General Assembly this week in relation to a territorial dispute over a group of islands in the East China Sea.

China’s official People’s Daily criticized Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda for attempting to use the General Assembly as an occasion to challenge international order. The Chinese newspaper’s criticism came after the Japanese prime minister said that he would reveal Japan’s stance on the islands, known as Senkaku in Japanese and Diaoyu in Chinese.

The People’s Daily said the international community will not be fooled by Japan’s show, urging Japan to reflect on the occupation of the islands and withdraw its decision to nationalize them.
