An increasing number of western media has been criticizing Japan for claiming the Dokdo islands as its territory.

Most of these media have been European, with even Germany taking part in frowning upon Japan’s recent actions.

Deutschlandradio, a national German radio broadcaster, said in a commentary on September 22nd that Japan’s lack of regret over its historical past is playing a crucial role in territorial disputes with South Korea and China.

French weekly news magazine L’Express said in an analysis report on its internet website that Japan has never fully taken responsibility for its wrongdoings against Korea during its military rule over the Korean Peninsula, compared to Germany which took full responsibility for the Holocaust.

Other western media reports also took similar form, criticizing Japan and comparing the country to Germany.
