More than two dozen South Korean tourists were rescued on Friday after their boat sank off the coast of Pattaya, Thailand.

The speed boat sank around 100 meters offshore from Pattaya in the Gulf of Thailand after a hole formed in the bottom of the boat when it hit an unidentified object around 10:40 a.m. on Friday.

The tourists jumped into the water before the boat sank and ships in the area rescued all 27 of them.

The tourists were traveling from Coral Island, around 20 minutes away from Pattaya.

More than 700-thousand South Koreans visit Pattaya every year with most of them traveling to Coral Island on a speed boat.
